On the morning of April 18, the Ukrainian power system received emergency assistance from transmission system operators in Romania, Poland, and Slovakia.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

Thus, during the evening peak hours on April 17, there was an emergency supply of electricity from Romania, Poland and Slovakia. The amount of assistance was less than a percent of the daily amount of electricity consumption.

As of this morning, emergency aid from these countries is still involved. The estimated volume of involved electricity will be about 2% of the total volume of consumption.

«Attracting emergency assistance from neighboring countries is a standard tool for the interaction of synchronized energy systems in the event of an emergency need for electricity. Ukraine, like our partners, also provides emergency assistance if necessary and if possible,» the press service explained

As of this morning, there are no restrictions for consumers (except Kharkiv Oblast and Kryvyi Rih). In addition, electricity imports in the amount of 9,600 MWh are forecast for the current day. Export is not expected.

«Given the significant damage caused to the power system by enemy attacks, as well as the sharp drop in temperature and the corresponding increase in the load on the power system, it is important to use electricity wisely. We ask consumers, both domestic and industrial, to reduce the use of energy-intensive appliances during peak hours (from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.),» the message said.

It will be recalled that during a missile strike on March 22, Russian troops destroyed the Zmiiv Thermal Power Plant in the Kharkiv region. It was one of the largest TPPs in the Kharkiv Region.
