In total, 205 media from all regions of Ukraine are currently represented on the map. Along with NikVesti, seven more publications from Mykolaiv were added to the map of recommended media. The map shows 10 recommended media from the Odesa region, and 5 from the Kherson region.

«The map forms and implements in practice new industrial standards of transparency and responsibility of media resources. At the same time, it creates a basis for discussions and further reforms in the media sphere, including legislative reforms, supporting the constant development of a reliable information space in Ukraine,» said Oksana Romaniuk, director of the Institute of Mass Information.

The media were evaluated according to a common matrix, which contains 14 indicators for evaluating the independence and reputation of publications. The main blocks of criteria cover transparency, adherence to professional standards and journalistic ethics. IMI experts evaluated online media, DM experts evaluated radio and TV channels.

The application system allows the media to independently register for participation in the project, which simplifies the process of inclusion and democratizes the selection, opening the door for small and niche resources. The map will continue to be updated, and the next wave of monitoring is scheduled for February 2025.

We will remind you that the project started in September 2023. At the first stage, 142 Ukrainian media were included in the map, and according to the results of the second wave, 176 media were included.
