We previously agreed that the wounded Ukrainian soldiers would be officially taken prisoner, provided with assistance, and then returned through the exchange procedure. Unfortunately, the Russian side has once again shown that any agreements may not be fulfilled,» he explained.

As Dmytro Lubinets emphasized, Ukraine constantly faces the fact that the Russian Federation violates agreements and norms of humanitarian law.

«We don't know what to do about it,» the ombudsman added.

Earlier it became known that the Russian occupiers shot six captured defenders at the Museum («Zenith») position in Avdiivka, who remained during the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops. Relatives of servicemen identified their bodies from videos on social networks.

Subsequently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to investigate the circumstances of the death of Ukrainian prisoners during the exit from Avdiivka.
