The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, has announced the start of the heating season in Mykolaiv region. Critical infrastructure facilities will be the first to receive heat.

He announced this on his Telegram page.

According to the head of the region, the order was given by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The region is currently waiting for the right weather conditions.

«We are going to have a meeting with the heating company. We are starting to heat critical infrastructure, hospitals, and the social sector. It's still very warm here, so we'll wait for the weather (when the average daily temperature is +8 degrees and below for three days) and get to work. We are ready,» he said.

Earlier, Vitaliy Kim noted that the start of the heating season in Mykolaiv could be postponed to save resources, but in general, heat is planned to be supplied on schedule — in accordance with government regulations, from 1 November to 31 March.

Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych also called on Mykolaiv residents to be prepared for the most difficult scenarios, as the power grid may be hit again. Therefore, the city is preparing for winter, taking into account possible damage to heating and gas transmission networks.
