The executive committee of Mykolaiv City Council has supported changes to the «Education» programme for 2025-2027. They include the creation of additional sports classes in the city's schools and the provision of two hot meals a day for their students.

The relevant draft decision was supported by members of the executive committee at a meeting on 22 October, according to NikVesti.

According to the head of the city education department, Hanna Lychko, sports classes are being introduced at the initiative of the Ministry of Sports. Students of such classes study according to the regular school curriculum in the morning, and in the afternoon they are trained in their chosen sport.

Currently, there are four such classes in Mykolaiv: one in school №36 (grade 3) and three in gymnasium №47 (grades 6-8). According to Hanna Lychko, the project has received positive feedback, so the city plans to expand it and include food costs in the «Education» programme.

The executive committee supported the decision.
