Eight out of 18 residents of Mykolaiv, who recently received certificates of completion of training for tram and trolleybus drivers, go on the routes.

Yurii Smetana, Director of KP «Mykolaivelectrotrans», announced this on the air of TRC «MART».

Eight graduates of «Mykolaivelectrotrans» passed exams at the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and received category «T» rights, five of them went to work with an instructor for the first time on Saturday, March 23. According to the director, the company continues to recruit new drivers, because the number of vehicles is increasing due to the purchase and renewal of rolling stock.

Yurii Smetana added that after the resumption of driver training courses, 52 people have already been trained.

«Now we have already conducted the first interview with those who are interested, to which 20 people came. We will recruit groups of trolleybuses and trams. Therefore, we are waiting for people from Mykolaiv who want to join the work at our company,» he added.

During their studies, students receive a stipend in the amount of 7,100 hryvnias per month. From April 1, students will already receive 8 thousand hryvnias per month. The training lasts 14 weeks. After that, students take an exam at the company and the service center, and also undergo an internship with an instructor on the line.

It was previously reported that a trolleybus with autonomous operation will appear on one of the routes in Mykolaiv within a month. It was converted from a vehicle damaged by shelling.
