Denmark to finance reconstruction of dyke in the Soliany neighbourhood in Mykolaiv

Mykolaiv has transferred the authority to implement the project for the reconstruction of the culvert in the Soliani neighbourhood from the Department of Architecture of the Regional State Administration to the utility company «Mykolaivvodokanal».

This decision was supported by the deputies during the city council session on 31 July, according to NikVesti.

As explained by Ihor Nabatov, First Deputy Director of the Housing and Communal Services Department, the change of customer is due to the fact that the water utility has a preliminary agreement with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) to finance this facility.

«We are removing one of the objects from the list of reconstruction of water supply facilities in Mykolaiv, which was previously implemented by the RMA Architecture Department, and transferring it to the water utility. The company has a preliminary agreement with DRC on financing,» said Ihor Nabatov.

We are talking about the facility «Reconstruction of a culvert in the Soliany neighbourhood across the Inhul River, 2 lines D 500 mm». As part of the decision, the water utility will become the customer for design and construction works and will receive all the necessary documentation for implementation.

As a reminder, the State Agency for Reconstruction promised to start filling the new water supply system for Mykolaiv with water after 25 July. Before that, they said it would happen on 20 July.

In particular, in late July, water supply was cut off throughout Mykolaiv for a day due to repair works.
