In Mykolaiv, it is planned to return the students of the maritime lyceum to offline studies from the second semester of 2025.

The issue of returning to the offline format was discussed at the meeting of the City Commission on Education on November 25, NikVesti writes.

The question of the terms of returning to the offline format was actively raised by the parents of students, as reported by the deputy of the Mykolaiv City Council Oleksandr Medvedev from the party «Opposition Platform — «For Life» (currently the activity of this party is prohibited, — note.).

The head of the education department of the city council, Hanna Lychko, reported that the repair of the shelter was completed, but the water purification system had to be installed before opening the institution.

«We definitely want to restore the face-to-face learning process. Repairs in the protective shelter have already been completed. Now it is necessary to install a water purification system, which was provided by an international organization. As soon as it is installed, we will resume face-to-face training. Without guaranteed drinking water quality, we are not given permission for this. I think that in the second semester, children will return to offline learning. If it can be done earlier, then we will start earlier. But after the winter holidays — for sure,» Hanna Lychko noted.

We remind you that there are 31 secondary education institutions in Mykolaiv in full-time/mixed format. Another 11 educational institutions plan to work part-time/mixed after the completion of repair work in shelters and buildings.

On the other hand, only 22 of 73 preschool educational institutions are functioning in Mykolaiv today, in which 5,046 children study. They have already finished repairing the shelter in another kindergarten, it should be operational in the near future. Work continues in another 14 kindergartens.

As you know, the Mykolayiv City Council is going to allocate 16.2 billion hryvnias for the implementation of the «Education» program for 2025-2027, 10.3 billion are planned to be allocated from the city budget. The volume of funding for the program is twice the previous budget for education in 2022-2024, which amounted to 8.6 billion hryvnias.
