In Mykolaiv Oblast, the SBI referred to the court nine indictments regarding high treason among the military and security forces

The State Bureau of Investigation sent to the court nine criminal proceedings regarding high treason and collaboration committed by law enforcement officers or military personnel.

Serhii Koziura, the head of the first investigative department of the State Criminal Investigation Department in the Mykolaiv region, said this today, December 12, during a press conference, NikVesti reports.

According to Serhii Koziura, among the accused are those who, after the beginning of the Russian aggression, expressed support for the enemy and called for collaborative actions.

«There were also law enforcement officers and military personnel who, after the beginning of the Russian invasion and occupation of part of the Mykolaiv region, swore to the side of the enemy. Suspicion was discovered and reported to the prosecutor of one of the prosecutor's offices of Mykolaiv Oblast, who justified Russian aggression. In total, nine criminal proceedings were initiated under parts 1, 2 of Article 111 (Treason) and part 7 of Article 111-1 (Collaborative activity) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,» he said.

It is noted that 20 criminal proceedings are currently at the stage of pre-trial investigation and will be sent to court in the future.

It was previously reported that in 2023, the number of registered criminal proceedings in the field of defense increased threefold in the Mykolaiv region.
