Preparations for the new heating season in Ukraine are on schedule, and gas storage is on track.

This was stated by Deputy Energy Minister for European Integration Olha Yukhymchuk during a telethon, according to «RBK-Ukraine».

«Preparations for the heating season are proceeding according to the approved schedule. The accumulation of energy resources is carried out in accordance with the plan,» Olha Yukhymchuk assured.

According to her, at least 13.2 billion cubic metres of gas should be accumulated by the start of the heating season, with 4.6 billion to be imported. Currently, these figures are in line with the plan.

Yukhymchuk noted that detailed data is not disclosed for security reasons, as Russian troops are targeting gas infrastructure facilities, particularly in the production sector.

«As of today, the accumulation of the resource is fully in line with the schedule. For security reasons, I cannot provide more detailed information, because the peculiarity of Russian attacks, and we saw it last night, including on our energy sector, is that this year they are targeted attacks on gas infrastructure facilities, in particular in the upstream sector,» explained Olha Yukhymchuk.

At the same time, she stressed that Ukraine will be able to provide the population with the necessary volumes of the resource during the autumn and winter period.

Earlier it was reported that the heating season for 2025-2026 has started in Kherson. From 1 October, residents with individual heating received heat.
