Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has refused Russian President Vladimir Putin's offer of a bilateral meeting in Moscow. Instead, he invited him to Kyiv.

He said this in an interview with ABC News.

«He can come to Kyiv. I can't go to Moscow when my country is under rocket fire every day. I cannot go to the capital of this terrorist. Putin understands this», Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

According to him, Putin's proposal was only intended to postpone a possible meeting.

As a reminder, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he was not opposed to meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but that the place of the talks should be Moscow.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy reminded that the deadline had passed since Donald Trump gave Russia 14 days to confirm its readiness for talks at the level of leaders.

Prior to that, the White House stated that Donald Trump did not want to impose new sanctions on Russia, but was ready to do so if necessary.

At the same time, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal stressed the need for an early vote on the bill on new sanctions against Russia. In his opinion, Russian President Vladimir Putin «does not deserve additional time».

It should be noted that nearly 60% of Americans are not confident in Donald Trump's ability to make informed decisions regarding the war between Russia and Ukraine.
