Russia should consider the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire, which was proposed today, 10 May, by Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders following a meeting of the «coalition of the willing».

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told CNN that the Russian side has its own position on the ceasefire.

«Russia is open to dialogue on a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, but it is useless to put pressure on Moscow», he said.

Another proposal for a 30-day truce

As you know, on 10 May, after a meeting of the «Coalition of the Willing» in Kyiv, European leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke on the phone with US President Donald Trump. They called on Russia for a 30-day ceasefire.

They also informed US President Donald Trump of their readiness to start direct talks with Russia if a temporary ceasefire is reached.

The meeting in Kyiv also produced a list of 22 proposals from the US and Europeans regarding the war in Ukraine. US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff is to present them to Vladimir Putin.
