Russian representatives will not take part in the meeting to be held on 15-16 April in Ankara to discuss security issues in the Black Sea.

This was reported by Anadolu Agency with reference to the Turkish Ministry of Defence.

It is noted that the meeting will be held at the headquarters of the country's Navy. Military representatives of foreign countries are invited to participate. The main topic is planning measures to maintain peace in the region after a possible cessation of hostilities between Ukraine and Russia.

The Turkish defence ministry did not specify the full list of participating countries, but stressed that Russian officials would not be among them.

Earlier, a number of Turkish media outlets reported on the possible participation of representatives of both Ukraine and Russia, but official information did not confirm these assumptions.

In a comment to RBC-Ukraine, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Heorhii Tykhyi said that Ukraine was not aware of «a meeting» in Turkey to negotiate with Russia on the Black Sea truce, as previously reported by the Turkish press.

As a reminder, the US, Ukraine and Russia agreed at talks in Saudi Arabia to ensure safe navigation and «exclude the use of force» in the Black Sea.
