The Central District Court of Mykolaiv arrested without bail a 47-year-old resident of Bashtanka district, suspected of murdering an acquaintance.

According to the materials of the petition, the suspect was drinking with his friends while he was on the territory of his homestead in one of the villages of the Bashtanka district. Later, he had a conflict with one of them.

In the course of the conflict, the man inflicted a number of punches and kicks on the latter's face and chest, causing bruises and multiple rib fractures, resulting in death, according to the case file.

In the justification of the request, the prosecutor noted that the suspicion is well-founded, there are risks that can be prevented only by applying an exceptional preventive measure. In addition, he added that the suspect is a serviceman who voluntarily left the military unit.

The suspect asked the court to apply a preventive measure in the form of house arrest. The defender asked to refuse the request, he considered the risks to be unreasonable.

After examining the materials of the petition, investigating judge Volodymyr Liashchenko decided to apply a preventive measure in the form of detention, without determining the amount of bail, against the suspect.

Previously, a 68-year-old resident of the Mykolaiv district, who is suspected of murdering his own son, was given a preventive measure. He will be held without bail.
