On 22 June, the Russian army attacked a training ground of one of the mechanised brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Mykolaiv region with missiles.

This was reported by the Land Forces Command.

At the time of the attack, the training ground was in the middle of a training session with the military. All the wounded are being provided with qualified medical care.

«Thanks to the timely security measures taken when the air raid alert was received, numerous casualties were avoided. However, unfortunately, there are still some dead and wounded. All the injured are being promptly provided with all the necessary professional assistance in medical facilities. We express our sincere condolences to the families and friends of the deceased servicemen,» the ministry wrote.

A special commission has been set up to investigate the circumstances, and law enforcement agencies are also working. The Ukrainian Armed Forces said that additional measures are being taken to strengthen security at the training grounds.

The Telegram channel «Mykolaivskyi Vaniok» reports that at least three people were killed in the strike. According to him, the attack was coordinated from a drone that hovered over the training ground for about 20 minutes.

«It was in our region that the firing range was hit, they hit it from above. At the moment, it's 3 — 200,» the statement said.

The official number of casualties has not yet been released.

As a reminder, as a result of another shelling by the Russians on 22 June, residential buildings were damaged in Ochakiv.
