In Pervomaisk, a local resident is suspected of distributing propaganda materials calling for the annexation of Ukraine's southeastern regions to Russia.

According to the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the man spread propaganda on the banned social network «Odnoklassniki», where he called for the secession of the south-eastern regions of Ukraine and their accession to Russia.

«The materials contained calls for active violent opposition to the current Ukrainian government, aimed at separating the south-eastern regions (Kharkiv, Odesa, Kherson, Mykolaiv) from Ukraine and joining Russia on the example of Donetsk region», the statement said.

According to the prosecutor's office, the man used social media to support Russia's aggression and accused Jews of war crimes.

«He supported Russia's aggressive intentions by shifting the responsibility for their war crimes to representatives of the Jewish national group, i.e. materials aimed at inciting national hatred between Ukrainians and Jews», the prosecutor's office added.

During the search, a laptop was seized from the man, and he was placed under house arrest as a preventive measure. The man faces up to five years in prison.

As a reminder, a deputy of the Kakhovka District Council in Kherson region was found guilty of collaboration and sentenced to eight years in prison with confiscation of property.

According to the regional prosecutor's office, during the temporary occupation, the man voluntarily took up the position of «head of the division for the organisation and regulation of fisheries of the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of Kherson Oblast».
