Russians shell two communities in Mykolaiv region: house damaged

Yesterday, 16 February, Russian troops carried out several attacks in Mykolaiv region, using artillery and FPV kamikaze drones.

This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.

The Kutsurub community came under enemy fire — the occupiers opened fire at 7:50, 10:40 and 21:20, and at 16:46 they attacked with an FPV drone. As a result of one of the attacks, a residential building was damaged in the village of Parutyne. According to the authorities, there were no casualties.

Shelling of Mykolaiv on 16 February

On 16 February, at 0:50, the first explosion occurred in Mykolaiv. Later it became known that the city was under attack by drones. By 1:42 a.m., six more explosions had occurred in Mykolaiv.

The head of the Mykolaiv regional military administration, Vitalii Kim, said that the strike damaged critical infrastructure and apartment buildings. At least four shops, a catering facility and office premises were also damaged.

In addition, a 64-year-old man was injured in the attack. He was hospitalised and his condition is currently assessed as satisfactory. Later it became known that due to the Russian shelling, some residents of the city were left without heating.

According to the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, work is underway to assess the damage and restore heat supply. The city lost heat supply to 46,000 customers.

Later, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that more than one hundred thousand people in Mykolaiv were left without heating as a result of a strike by Russian Shahed.

In the evening, the head of the Mykolaiv regional military administration, Vitalii Kim, said that from today all the houses left without heating as a result of the Russian Shahed strike would be connected to the heating system, but gradually.
