After three years of court proceedings, the Odesa enterprise Ekologiia will pay a fine of 11 million hryvnias.

The basis for the charge was an inspection by the State Environmental Inspection, conducted back in 2021.

It is noted that the production cooperative Ekologiia is engaged in the disposal of solid household waste at the landfill near the village of Abrykosove in the Odesa region.

During the inspection, ecologists found that the landfill does not have a proper leachate extraction and disposal system. This led to the pollution of land resources. The cost of the damage was 11 million 300 thousand 250 hryvnias.

After the inspection appealed to the enterprise with a claim for voluntary compensation, Ekologiia refused to pay this amount.

On October 9 of this year, the Commercial Court of the Odesa Region satisfied the claim of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District Prosecutor's Office.
