Law enforcement officers identified and reported suspicion to a serviceman of the Russian army who raped a minor girl during the occupation of the Kherson region.

It is noted that the suspect is a serviceman of the 109th Rifle Regiment of the Mobilization Reserve 1st Army Corps of the 8th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation.

Investigators established that in March 2022, the suspect, together with other Russian military personnel, entered one of the private houses where local residents and children were hiding.

The suspect entered one of the rooms where the underage girl and her sisters were. He ordered the girl to follow him to another room of the house and to undress completely. After receiving a refusal from the victim, he threatened her with murder and rape by other military personnel of the aggressor country. Using physical force, the soldier raped the girl.

The crime is classified under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine («Violation of the Laws and Customs of War»). The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

Earlier it was reported that the police completed the investigation of the case against the «DNR» militant, who during the occupation of the right-bank part of the Kherson region together with an accomplice abused and raped a local woman. The figure faces up to 12 years in prison.
