Ukraine has successfully tested the Latvian grain corridor

On Saturday, October 21, Ukraine and Latvia tested a new grain corridor, which allows transporting Ukrainian grain to ports in the Baltic states by rail.

This was announced by the head of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, Danylo Hetmantsev.

It is noted that the first test train with 1,423 tons of rapeseed was unloaded at the port of the Latvian capital Riga, which was delivered from Ukraine to the Kaunas intermodal railway terminal in Lithuania, and then transported on LDZ CARGO platforms to the Latvian capital.

According to Danylo Hetmantsev, the entire operation from shipment from Ukraine to unloading at Rīgas Universālais Termināls took 17 days, and, according to the People's Deputy, the Latvian partners assessed it as successful and one that provides new opportunities for expanding the shipment of Ukrainian grain for export to other countries.
