The government has increased the monthly supplement for teachers from frontline areas, including Mykolaiv region, to four thousand hryvnias.

This was announced by Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko.

According to her, the increase will affect more than 25,000 teachers working in 84 communities of the Dnipro, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv Oblasts.

The recipient of donations is the NGO “Mykolaiv Media Hub” (EDRPOU 45160758). By making a donation, you confirm that the amount is non-refundable and may be used by the NGO to implement its statutory activities, including supporting independent journalism and creating socially significant content. The additional payment will start on 1 September this year, and teachers will receive it in October for two months at a time.

«In times of war, when the enemy is trying to destroy us and our future, the work of Ukrainian teachers is more important than ever, because it is about educating our next generations — those who will develop the country in the future. At the same time, this work is more difficult than ever — in the conditions of shelling, especially in the frontline areas,» said Yuliia Svyrydenko.

The Ministry of Education and Science clarified that teachers working full-time or in a mixed format in dangerous conditions will be paid 5200 hryvnias before taxes. The amount of the additional payment will depend on the workload. In particular, for those who work overtime, the amount will increase proportionally.

More than 372 million hryvnias has been allocated from the state budget for these payments, which will ensure funding until the end of the year. The government also plans to increase salaries for teachers by 50% in 2026.

As reported earlier, 59 schools may be closed in Mykolaiv region due to insufficient number of students for full-time education. The regional authorities are trying to secure a delay or exemptions for frontline schools.
